My My. This one was kind of brutal.
We open with Desmond offering to fix the roof of Claire's Shelter. Charlie gets jealous. Sawyer is dragged from his cage and stabbed in the chest with a needle while Jack listens on the intercom speaker. Desmond takes a golfclub from Paulo.
In the flashback we see Sawyer in prison for a con he pulled on a woman who comes to visit telling him he has a daughter. He tricks a new inmate into giving away the money he was arrested for and uses the information to deal his way out of prison. He is given a share of said money and has the warden use it to set up a bank account for his supposed daughter.
Colleen is brought in and the Others have Jack help operate but he is unable to save her. Colleen's husband beats the snot out of Sawyer until Kate admits she loves him. Jack questions some x-rays he sees. Desmond builds a lightning rod and lightning strikes it instead of Claire's shelter. Kate gets out of her cage but does not run. Ben shows Sawyer that they are on a second island seperate from the rest of the losties.
